The Myth of "The Myth of Moderate Islam" 26

In a recent article in The Spectator magazine in the UK, the evangelical leader Patrick Sookhdeo takes a swipe at Muslims and their religion. Does his case stand up to scrutiny ? Patrick Sookhdeo’s article (July 30, 2005) in London’s The Spectator, The Myth of a Moderate Islam” reflects a dangerous trend in the war on terror. Under the guise of informing Westerners about Islam, he is in fact spreading the very same disinformation that anti-Islamic polemics have been based upon for over 1,000 years. This plays directly into the hands of Osama bin Laden, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and others, for it encourages the clash of civilizations” they so appallingly desire. It is indeed of the utmost importance that we learn more about Islam and fight the scourge of extremism with all the tools possible. But Sookhdeo and those like him corrupt this process, seeking to advance their own agenda by turning the war on terror into an ideological war against Islam.

How the Qur'an Was Revealed and Compiled 27

The following is a video lecture made by Hamza Yusof on July 14th, 1997 and in coöperation with Alhambra Productions. The topic of the history of the Qur’an and its compilation, and forms as part of a Foundations of Islam” series of lectures. Hamza Yusof gave a good historical background of the Qur’an, its history and how it was Revealed in stages to the Prophet Muhammad (P), its compilation after the passing of the Prophet (P) as well as demonstrating the textual integrity of the Qur’an, as opposed to the textual frailty of the Judeo-Christian text which stands on shaky ground. Also of interest is the Question & Answer session towards the end of this lecture which we hope our readers will find beneficial.

Response To "Muhammad as Al-Amin (the Trustworthy): How His Enemies Really Viewed Him" And The Christian Missionaries 28

It has become a habit for some to publish responses to any paper dealing with the issue of Islam, its truthfulness and the falsehood of other religions. This is particularly true of the Christian missionaries as such people do not care whether they provide an efficient responses or not ; all they care about is to respond, regardless of the outcome. Is this reaction an idiotic one ? Well, we cannot claim that it is a stupid strategy ; because it is always useful to show your followers that you are able to respond and speak loudly, drowning other voices. The psychological factor is after all always important here. But what is glaring indeed are the content of such responses” because the writer tries to show that he is competent in the field when in actual fact he is totally unqualified.

A Vision of the Future Without.... 29

The Christian missionaries and their allies have been calling for the destruction of Islam openly ever since the advent of the Internet. A cursory glance at these fanatical and bigoted websites will at once give the dilligent reader an idea of their genocidal tendencies against the Muslim Ummah, unfairly equating Islam with terrorism, and even denouncing Islam as equal to Nazism and hence Islam is not a religion”, according to their bigoted lenses. While their intention is clear (i.e. the destruction of Islam), some liberal Christians who have taken this author to task for the so-called call” for the destruction of Christianity are blissfully unaware of these developments. Sadly too, some ignorant liberal Muslims from among the ummah are siding with these passive Christian liberals and are too caught unawares of this hidden missionary threat. Even more, there are groups who openly pander to the hidden agendas of the kufaar and openly side with them in their genocidal ambitions.

In the usual vein of missionary tradition, the missionaries have made a rather pathetic attempt at refuting” one of our articles which shows the Bible perversion in encouraging homosexuality. Previously, we have shown in another exposition how the so-called apostle” from Tarsus had displayed some homosexual tendencies. In the later part of this article, we will provide some examples of how the Christians have practised this particular teaching from the Bible in their day-to-day lives.
