Do Christians make Jesus idolatrous ?

Abdur Rafay Ahmad & Mohd Elfie Nieshaem Juferi

Before proceeding, please let us inform you clearly that Muslims love Prophet Jesus(P) and have nothing against him. According to the Holy Qur’?n, one must believe in every prophet including Jesus(P) to become a Muslim. And according to the Qur’?n, if a Muslims say something against the Prophet Jesus(P), he is destined for Hell !

This paper has been written to disprove the doctrine of Trinity through the analysis of several verses in the Old and the New Testament. For the sake of the argument, we shall assume what the Christians assume about Jesus(P) in this discourse, namely that he(P) is God in human form.

Contradicting Verses and Views

In one place, the New Testament confirms that people will go to Heaven by their deeds, and in another place, it says that Jesus, peace be upon him is (allegedly!) the way to Heaven. There are a lot of contradicting verses like these. Christians nowadays believe that if one believes in Jesus, he’ll go to Heaven in all ways even if he is a sinner. So Christians are having a new spiritual experience, which was not taught by the Law given to Moses(P).

Abrogating the Whole Law of Moses

The New Testament tells us that Jesus(P) confirms the Law of Moses(P):

Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets ; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven ; but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.Matthew 5 : 17 – 20

From the above verses, we can infer that Jesus(P) confirms the Shema of the Jews, as he himself had said :

Hear, O Israel : The LORD our God, is one LORD.“Mark 12:29 – 32, c.f. Deuteronomy 6:4

But suddenly, we read in another passage that, according to Christian interpretion, Jesus(P) is saying that he is (allegedly) a part of God :

When he had gone out, Jesus said, Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him. If God has been glorified in him God will also glorify him in himself and will glorify him at once’.“John 13 : 31 – 32

So there are a lot of contradicting verses, abrogating the law, confirming the law and therefore causing confusion.

Christians today are claiming that Jesus is a part of God, and that if one believes in Jesus(P), then he or she will go to Heaven in all cases even if they are sinners, and this is contradictory to the Law of Moses(P) . So, in a way, Christians are the servants of Jesus (because they claim that Jesus is God), or in other words, they serve Jesus(P) , and not God.

So What Do We Do With Such Cases According to The Law ?

According to the Law of Moses(P), such a Prophet (that is, the Jesus of the New Testament) should be killed or crucified. This proves the distortion of the New Testament and the fallacy of the Jesus of the New Testament. The real Jesus(P) was a great Messenger of God and would never proclaim a Message contrary to the teachings of God Almighty !

We read that :

If prophets or those who divine by dreams appear among you and promise you omens or portents, and the omens or the portents declared by them take place, and they say, Let us follow other gods” (whom you have not known) and let us serve them,” you must not heed the words of those prophets or those who divine by dreams ; for the LORD your God is testing you, to know whether you indeed love the LORD your God with all your heart and soul. The LORD your God you shall follow, him alone you shall fear, his commandments you shall keep, his voice you shall obey, him you shall serve, and to him you shall hold fast. But those prophets or those who divine by dreams shall be put to death for having spoken treason against the LORD your God – who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery – to turn you from the way in which the LORD your God commanded you to walk. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.“Deuteronomy 13 : 1 – 5

This verse clearly states that no Prophet is divine, and any Prophet who claims to be divine is a false one and should be put to death. This is not the case with the true picture of Jesus(P), the truth about Jesus(P) is totally different as he was a great and true Messenger of All?h.

Conclusion

The concept of Islamic monotheism (i.e. tawheed) is superb and so unique that it can never be disproved to be an eisegesis of the Qur’?n. On the other hand, we cannot find the doctrine of Trinity being supported by the exegesis of the Bible and we are forced to conclude that the concept of Trinity is man-made and not supported according to the present day manuscripts of the Law of Moses(P) and the Noble Qur’?n.

And certainly, only God knows best !Endmark
